Data Hosting and Storage

All RoleMapper data is hosted in the United Kingdom, within Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres located in the London region (eu-west-2). We do not offshore or outsource. All data processing is carried out within the UK. 

We work closely with our technical partners to ensure high standards of security, availability and compliance, and to ensure our hosting environment supports current and future client needs. 

Our cloud infrastructure and controls align with recognised industry standards and meet the expectations of clients across the UK, the European Union and the United States. While our hosting is UK-based, the platform is cloud-native and designed to support global users and region-specific requirements where needed. 

RoleMapper’s architecture is: 

• Cloud-native and designed across multiple AWS availability zones 

• Secure, with encryption in transit (TLS 1.2 and above) and at rest (AES-256) 

• Monitored around the clock using AWS CloudWatch and New Relic 

• Resilient, with automated recovery and redeployment of containerised services 

• Privacy-led, designed to limit personal data storage to the minimum necessary 

Our platform is built for high uptime, supported by AWS’s service level agreement of 99.9 per cent availability. We use blue-green deployment and a continuous delivery model to release updates without disrupting service. Where planned downtime is required, it is short, infrequent and scheduled during quiet periods to minimise impact. 

We also use Cloudflare as a global content delivery network (CDN) to support fast and reliable access for users in any location. 

Encrypted backups are taken daily and retained for a rolling 14-day period. Data can be restored in five-minute increments. The infrastructure is configured for high availability and rapid recovery in the event of disruption, supporting business continuity at all times. 

We regularly review our infrastructure, processes and alignment with regional and legal expectations. Our goal is to ensure our hosting approach remains robust, secure and fit for our clients’ needs.
